Sweden publishes first annual privacy report

The first Swedish annual privacy report, released by Datainspektionen, the Swedish DPA, on 20 May 2019, shows high awareness of the GDPR in Sweden: around 80% of the population are aware of the law.
At the same time, 75% are worried about how their personal data is used, and a third of the complaints received by Datainspektionen from citizens in the first year of the GDPR concern personal data published on public online credit checking and address websites. These websites are protected by Swedish press freedom laws, and are for a large part exempted from the GDPR.
